The central vignette of this late war state of Georgia issue features a representation of the state seal in an oval, mounted atop a geometric design. The issuing authority appears at the top, with the financial obligation is printed below. In the lower left corner of the note is a wonderful scene showing a steam locomotive and cars rounding a curve, while two individuals wave to the engineer. The right end of the note is dominated by the denomination expressed in three different formats. The note is dated "March 20, 1865" and was issued from "Milledgeville", the wartime capital of Georgia. The imprint of R. H. Howell, the printer, can be found along the bottom edge, though on this example it is somewhat weak. The note is hand numbered and hand signed as seen on virtually all issues of the era. A dark black Treasury seal appears in the center of the otherwise blank back.

This note is in un-circulated condition, fully framed and with superb eye appeal. A nice example of this late war issue.
